Soldiers from the United Kingdom’s Household Cavalry Regiment visited the Virgin Islands this month, sailing, swimming and snorkelling their way toward recovery, after sustaining serious injuries while serving in Afghanistan.

“This trip provides a great opportunity for the soldiers to realise that although their lives may have changed as a result of their injuries, there are still plenty of opportunities for them and chances to take up new activities,” Surgeon Lieutenant-Colonel Dr. Jeremy Lewin, the regiment’s medical officer, said in a statement.

The soldiers stayed at the Nanny Cay Hotel and were hosted by Horizon Yacht Charters, also based at Nanny Cay.
