Two First District men announced last week that they will run for territorial at-large seats in this year’s general election.

Archibald “Archie” Christian will be making his third run for office with the National Democratic Party, and his first as an at-large candidate, he said at his official launch Wednesday evening. Mr. Christian, a real estate appraiser, previously ran to represent the First District in 2003 and 2007.

Mr. Christian criticised the “unnecessary projects” undertaken by the current government, and said they are a reflection of disunity within the government.

Preston Stoutt, son of the late H. Lavity Stoutt, is running for office for the first time. He told members of the press gathered for his launch Thursday afternoon that the present government lacks “vision,” which he said is evident in the “void of constructive concepts.”

Mr. Stoutt said he will be looking to hearing from voters about their concerns, especially through his website: stouttforbvi.com.
