One man was killed and another seriously injured in two separate wrecks over the weekend on Tortola, police said.

At about 3 a.m. Saturday, Reon Stephens, a 25-year-old Guyana national who resided in Great Mountain, was killed while riding his motorcycle on the James Walter Francis Drive near Carib Supply, police said.

No one else was hurt in the wreck, but Mr. Stephens was pronounced dead on arrival at the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital, where he had been taken to receive treatment, according to Police Information Officer Akia Thomas.

Investigations are ongoing, the PIO said.

Hours earlier, Keron Andrews, a 29-year-old St. Vincent national who resides in Diamond Estate, sustained serious injuries when his vehicle crashed in Paraquita Bay, Ms. Thomas said.

Following the accident, he was transported to the hospital, where he underwent surgery, police said Saturday.

According to a GoFundMe account created Tuesday to raise funds for Mr. Andrews’ treatment — $3,570 had been donated by yesterday afternoon — he since has been airlifted to a hospital in Trinidad, where “he has been fighting for his life.”
