A man who faces cocaine trafficking charges in the Virgin Islands was arrested this month in Barbados for allegedly trafficking marijuana, according to the Barbados Today.

Jomo Jack, 30, was reportedly found on a boat near Barbados with two other men and a 30-pound bale of cannabis on April 1.

Mr. Jack stood trial last year with Hugh Erickson, Leon King, James John and Gerry Freeman for allegedly being involved in a major smuggling operation.

Charges were dropped against Messrs. Erickson, King and Freeman when the prosecution refused to proceed with the trial because it was appealing a decision in the trial to the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court of Appeal.

Mr. James, who allegedly had 114 kilograms of cocaine in his apartment when police raided it in August 2012, was sentenced to three years imprisonment after pleading guilty to importing cocaine

Mr. John did not have the charges against him dismissed because his case had been severed from the others at the request of his attorney, Hugh Wildman. He was out on bail at the time of his arrest in Barbados.
