A day after he was convicted of attacking a woman in an alley, Keno Allen was sentenced to 15 years behind bars for the crime Thursday.

During the attack on lower Main Street, Mr. Allen pulled the woman, Ann Nicole Perry, into an alley, where he choked her, sexually assaulted her and stole her wallet, prosecutors said during his weeklong trial.

He was found guilty of three charges: choking, indecent assault and robbery. During the trial, two investigating officers and a medical doctor who examined Ms. Perry testified, along with three people who were near the scene around the time of the attack.

“This is like a big puzzle,” acting Principal Crown Counsel Tiffany Scatliffe said in her closing statement last week. “Every witness holds a piece, and you need to link it together.”

Among those who gave evidence was Phillip Kite, who witnessed the attack after hearing Ms. Perry’s muffled screams from the alley near his office at Harneys law firm.

“I looked down the alleyway and saw a woman with a man over her,” Mr. Kite told the court. “The lady was flat on her back.”

The witness said he ran into the alley, and the attacker quickly jumped up and fled the scene. After the attack, Mr. Kite said he and his wife, who was nearby, managed to calm Ms. Perry down enough for her to tell them what happened.

“She was very upset, very shaky,” Mr. Kite said. “At times she was sobbing, and looked incredibly frightened.”

Mr. Allen was sentenced to 15 years for choking, ten years for robbery and two years for indecent assault. The sentences are to run concurrently from the time of his remand.
