Form four Elmore Stoutt High School student Thea Cooke began playing the bass guitar four years ago. She never thought she would one day meet Debbie Walker, popularly known as Divinity Roxx, who used to play bass guitar for Beyonce Knowles.

But on Friday, she got that opportunity. The performer, who is to play at Bayside Rhythm’s summer concert series at 6 p.m. Saturday at Mulligan’s, stopped at the school campus to meet students.

Not only did Ms. Cooke get to perform for the bassist, she got her guitar autographed.
“It’s a great feeling seeing her and also performing for her,” Thea said. “I was nervous at first but I later got into the performance.”
