As the boxy Ford F150 moved slowly down Main Street shortly after noon on Tuesday, two women standing on the curb stopped their conversation to stare at it.

Out of the loudspeaker mounted on the top of the vehicle came the tune that National Democratic Party candidate Myron Walwyn hopes will help propel him to an electoral victory.

“We gonna vote for Walwyn, win, win, no matter what,” the speaker played, blaring a campaign song adapted from DJ Khaled’s 2010 hit “All I Do is Win.” At the same time, pictures of the at-large candidate smiling were displayed on billboards on either side of the truck.

Derrick Corea, the truck’s driver and the owner of Ads in Motion, said he bought the vehicle two years ago after seeing similar mobile advertising units on the streets of Las Vegas. But he didn’t start using the truck until a few months ago when his cousin suggested that it might make a good medium for political messages. His first customer was Fourth District candidate Mark Vanterpool.

“When I went to his launching, even though the van was here two years, people were like overwhelmed with what they saw,” Mr. Corea said. “And then the rest of the politicians just start calling us.”
