On a typical workday, 26-year-old doctor Brandon Frett attends to patients at Peebles Hospital.

But last Thursday, he was attending to a different type of need. During St. George’s Primary School’s medical-themed career day, he volunteered to speak with students about his profession.

Dr. Frett wore a white lab coat, as did many students. Ceana Daway, who is in class five, said she plans to be like Dr. Frett one day.

“I want to be a doctor so I can help people,” Ceana said.

She’s not sure what her specialty might be, but she needs to stay on top of her game in math and sciences, she said.
