Fungi music played as residents and visitors browsed saltfish, guavaberry and other traditional foods for sale on Friday during the Culture Week Food Fair at the Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park.

Most vendors were dressed in traditional outfits, as were many residents.

Near a stage, a farmer used a machine to squeeze fresh juice from sugar cane, while fishermen mended nets under a palm tree. A craft-maker taught attendees to make baskets, and another made jewellery.

A song blaring through loudspeakers declared, “Fungi and fish: That is my favourite meal.”

The celebration continued into the evening for the start of the two-night Fungi Fest. On Saturday, that event concluded, wrapping up the week of activities.
