On Friday evening, Government House could have been mistaken for a dance hall. Hundreds of vehicles lined the road as their owners partied at Dancing Under the Stars, an annual fundraiser organised by the Tortola Ladies Club.

During the event, DJ Push Pop played disco and old-school songs that had participants on their feet until 10 p.m.

Periodically, hosts David Archer and Zoe Walcott-McMillan asked attendees to dance in a line and hand over cash for a good cause.

“It was an extremely successful event,” said Judith Charles, president of both FSN and the Tortola Ladies Club, adding that more than $20,000 was donated.

Though Ms. Charles was pleased with the donations, she said the organisation needs more funds to keep up with the growing demand for its services.
