A 61-year-old man offered a woman a ride on Jan. 28, but instead of dropping her off he refused to let her out of the car, a prosecutor said Thursday in Magistrates’ Court.

After repeatedly insulting, threatening and slapping her, Walter Cameron made unwanted sexual advances as he drove, Crown Counsel Herbert Potter said.

Mr. Potter told Senior Magistrate Tamia Richards that Mr. Cameron faces three charges: indecent assault, assault causing actual bodily harm, and abduction. Ms. Richards granted him a $100,000 bail offer with two signed sureties and ordered him to stay away from the woman, who lives in “close proximity” to him in Branson Estate, Mr. Potter said.

The defendant, who is represented by attorney Corine George, was not allowed to enter a plea to the indictable charges.
