Once again, travellers depending on the ferry schedule to Charlotte Amalie were disappointed. Overbooking and poor scheduling left many outraged at the West End ferry terminal.

Left standing on the dock, having been told there was “no more room at the inn,” the disgruntled and very angry group now had the problem of reaching St. Thomas for their connecting flights.

I would suspect that sooner or later every company on this island depending solely on tourism for their bread and butter would join forces and demand — yes, demand — that this government straighten out this unacceptable public service.

The continuing inability to arrive and depart from this beautiful island without any sense of connecting elsewhere is the perfect formula for economic disaster.

I implore the government to take drastic steps to incorporate a reliable ferry service.   This is essential for the well-being of this territory.
