Professionals and tertiary level students now have a comprehensive resource to learn about the territory’s financial services industry.
Offshore Financial Services: A BVI Text was formally handed over from the Financial Services Commission to the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College Financial Services Institute and to BVI Library Services on Thursday afternoon.
The book was written by Cayman Islands author Paul Byles in 2009 and went through several rounds of edits before it was completed in 2012, said Financial Services Commission Managing Director and CEO Robert Mathavious at the ceremony.
He declined to give a reason for the delay or to disclose the cost of the project, but Mr. Mathavious told government officials, college staff and financial services professionals gathered for the handover that he was “proud like a peacock” to have the text completed and handed over.
Some 3,000 copies of the book were printed, and they’re being sold for $25 each. Mr. Mathavious said he hopes the book can be released in ebook form as well.
