At lunchtime on Friday at the Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park, hundreds of residents sampled drinks and dishes from many of the 20 establishments participating in the territory’s first ever Restaurant Week.

The week starts tomorrow and goes through Nov. 24, with some restaurants serving multiple sample-size dishes to show off their menu, and others offering a set meal for a discounted price, said Meslyn Allan, a public relations officer for the BVI Tourist Board.

The BVITB organised the event as part of its annual Tourism Month, Ms. Allan said.

The Friday menu ranged from casual pizza to fancier fish dishes, with Caribbean and international flavours.

With a large turnout and a festive atmosphere, Ms. Allan said she was pleased with the event, especially seeing restaurant owners and managers connect with the public.
