A Netherlands scientist is collaborating the Department of Disaster Management to analyse flood hazard areas in the territory.

Dr. Zoran Vojinovic, an associate professor of hydroinformatics at the UNESCO Institute for Water Education in the Netherlands, is working with Garymar Rivera, DDM’s senior technical planning manager, according to a press release from the department.

The pair’s work involves visiting locations throughout the territory; reviewing reports, photographs and video footage of past events; and meeting with district officers and residents to learn more about past floods.

The work is part of the Regional Risk Reduction (R3i) Project, a €4.9 million regional initiative funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme.
