A pastor and former National Democratic Party candidate who has spent the last year consulting for the BVI Ports Authority will be the organisation’s next managing director, officials said.

Cabinet chose Claude Skelton-Cline, who ran unsuccessfully as an NDP candidate for the District Two seat in last November’s election, for a three-year appointment to the post, which will take effect Saturday, according to a press release issued Tuesday by Government Information Services.

Mr. Skelton-Cline was contracted last December for $96,000 per year plus benefits to conduct a review “of all ports of entry in the territory” and examine project proposals for the development of the ports, GIS announced at the time.
