As part of what Communications and Works Minister Mark Vanterpool called a “very aggressive plan” to move forward with improving the territory’s infrastructure, officials signed contracts for two different projects Tuesday morning at the Premier’s Office.

One contract, worth $633,737, is with Autland Heavy Equipment. The contract calls for the company to do road repairs and construct a drainage system at Ballast Bay. The project, which is expected to take four months to complete, is part of the territory’s ongoing road network repair project, funded mostly by a $15.7 million Caribbean Development Bank loan.

The other contract, for $1,447,851, is with W & W Reliable Construction. The company will install about 1,700 feet of sewer pipes and some smaller “lateral” pipes, and carry out related excavation and paving in East End as part of the National Sewerage Project, Mr. Vanterpool said.

He added that sewerage works in the area of the Road Town Roundabout should resume in the next month or so.
