About a year ago, some 15 residents from the East End, Long Look and Greenland areas decided that their surroundings could use a facelift. So they formed the East End Beautification Committee.
The group has since organised clean-up campaigns, tree plantings and related activities in the community.
“We are trying to change the attitudes, practices and mindsets of residents when it comes to garbage disposal and having a clean environment,” explained founder Angela Burnett-Penn.
The latest event organised by the group, in conjunction with The BVI Tourist Board, was the Deck your Yard contest.
