“Daddy, look at that,” she said to Dion Smith. “We high in the sky.”

Kaimila and her parents took a ride in the Bell Jet Ranger helicopter Sunday as part of a Father’s Day gift for Mr. Smith. The aircraft, operated by the recently established Antilles Helicopter Services, made several trips Sunday, taking off from a clear patch of land on Nanny Cay Marina. The helicopter made trips from Beef Island and Peter Island that day as well.

“The response from the people about the product has been phenomenal,” said Ricky Dos Santos, AHS’ co-owner. “They just love it. I’d actually almost forgotten how beautiful this place is from the air.”

The company has been offering scenic flights for residents and visitors — at a cost of $90 per passenger — for about a month, and hopes to offer regularly scheduled trips, he said.
