Lawmakers are slated to debate four bills when they meet Thursday, including an updated Legal Professions Act, which was introduced in the House in 2012 and would update the General Legal Council, professional ethics rules, and the legal aid system.

Other bills set for debate include an amendment to statutory fees, an amendment to the Parole Act, and an update to the territory’s child-support legislation.

The report on the 2013 August Emancipation Festival by the Virgin Islands Festivals and Fairs Committee will be laid on the table, as will 2013 annual reports from the director of public prosecutions, the VI Parole Board, and the BVI Cancer Society.

No questions from the opposition are scheduled for the sitting.
