From décor to decks and fixtures to furnishings, the Home and Garden Expo was meant to offer a taste of everything a homeowner might need, organisers said.

Hosted by Relyon Marketing at the Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park Monday and Tuesday, the event was the first of its kind in the territory, Relyon Managing Director Elton Callwood said Monday.

“I know what we are doing is in the right direction for this particular industry, in terms of getting people the opportunity to showcase what they have to offer in the home and garden industry specifically,” Mr. Callwood said.

The 17 vendors who took part included building material suppliers, home décor shops, realtors and a bank. While Mr. Callwood had hoped for better participation from various businesses, he was satisfied with the event’s “humble beginnings.”

In the future, he hopes to see the event expand with representatives from hardware stores, heavy equipment companies, and utilities like the BVI Electricity Corporation.
