After what Premier Ralph O’Neal called a “journey of trials,” work on the exterior of the new hospital building restarted Monday.

James Todman Construction Ltd., one of three Virgin Islands companies to bid for the external works, is slated to repair and finish windows, and install canopies, handrails, and drains within the next 38 weeks, Mr. Todman said at the contract signing on May 18.

“We’ll be fully in line, as long as the government can keep up with their end,” Mr. Todman told the representatives from his firm, government officers, House of Assembly members and reporters gathered in the premier’s conference room to witness the signing.

Mr. O’Neal said he understood Mr. Todman’s statement, adding that he, too, hoped that when Mr. Todman goes to the cashier to pick up a cheque, she will give it to him.
