Tropical Storm Isaac brushed the territory without causing any major damage, officials said Friday morning.

The Department of Disaster Management issued a statement at about 5 a.m. the same day to say the tropical storm warning had been lifted after two days and nights of strong wind that left some residents without power, caused a road closure in West End, and sparked three minor fires.

Governor Boyd McCleary issued an all-clear Thursday morning, allowing the civil service to get back to work.

The decision to issue an all-clear while the territory was still under tropical storm warning was made after input from the DDM and Premier Dr. Orlando Smith, based on a balance of safety and economic considerations, said DDM Director Sharleen DaBreo.

Ms. DaBreo and Zebalon McClean, director of Fire and Rescue Services, both said emergency workers in the territory were well prepared for the storm.
