All Ms. Angie wanted was for her son to grow up, become a doctor and marry a light-skinned black woman with long hair down her back.

She sacrificed much to make sure her dreams came true. But somewhere along the line, Ms. Aggie believes, someone used “obeah” to make her son go against her wishes.

Ms. Aggie was a character in the play “Old Time Story,” performed three times at the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College over the weekend.

The play, by Jamaican Trevor D. Rhone, was acted by students and staff of the University of the Virgin Islands.
