“The 2007 Constitution and Good Governance in the Virgin Islands” is the title of a lecture to be delivered at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium at H. Lavity Stoutt Communtiy College.

In delivering the 24th annual Frederick Pickering Memorial Lecture, attorney Gerard Farara, QC, will explain how recent constitutional advancements have affected governance in the territory, according to the college.

He will also explain the importance of the ongoing consultative process between the United Kingdom and its overseas territories and give suggestions on what “basic principles and tenets should underpin a new White Paper and partnership,” according to an HLSCC press release.

Mr. Farara, who was admitted to practise law in the VI more than 34 years ago, chaired the 2004-2005 Constitutional Review Commission and was a member of the negotiating team that led to the enactment of the 2007 Constitution.
