Only one concertgoer got to dance with John Legend on stage and walk away with a red rose from the singer.   But thousands of other attendees at the Sunday concert didn’t seem to feel cheated.

The crowd cheered and screamed for the Grammy Award-winning performer, who was the final act in the National Parks Trust Jazz and Blues Concert Series held over the weekend at the Queen Elizabeth II Park.

Dressed all in black, with a thin tie, Mr. Legend confidently walked on stage at about 10 p.m. The 32-year-old performer strutted straight to the microphone and grinned at the crowd.

Then he launched into “Rolling in the Deep,” a song by United Kingdom chart topper Adele. Several other hits followed, from his and other singers’ repertoires.

On Saturday, former UB40 frontman Ali Campbell headlined the evening with his new band, Department of Employment and Productivity.
