Colin Chester, 43, of Free Bottom, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm on Monday, after allegedly dragging his wife from their bathroom during a dispute over a laptop Saturday morning.

At about 5 a.m. Saturday, Mr. Chester grabbed his wife by the neck, dragging her from their bathroom into the bedroom, Crown Counsel Valston Graham said in Magistrates’ Court. Ultimately, he let her go, and she reported the incident to the Road Town Police Station, Mr. Graham said.

She sustained a bruise on her face and experienced pain in her neck, and she was treated and discharged from Peebles Hospital, according to the prosecutor.

Mr. Chester told Magistrate Tamia Richards that the two began arguing the night before, when she wouldn’t let him use a laptop and her e-mail account to inform his sons, who live overseas, that he had hired a tutor for them.

Ms. Richards ordered him to return to court Jan. 31 for report, when she will verify whether he has enrolled in the programme.
