The Lions Club of Tortola recently installed 14 members to its board of directors to serve the club in the coming year, the organisation announced.

Lions met at a luncheon at the Banana Keet Café on June 16 to discuss future plans and review the club’s achievements in the past year.

Those achievements included building and commissioning a public restroom in the Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park and sponsoring several events and dinners, according to a press release from the club.

Jasmine Bass, the club’s recently elected president, said that in the coming year the group will focus on increasing vision testing in schools and beefing up public relations efforts to let people know what the club does.

Also at the ceremony, two club members were presented with trophies: Carvin Malone for Lion of the Year and Yoland Scott for Citizen of the Year.
