The ninth annual BVI Art and Culture Show’s silent auction last month collected more than $26,000 in proceeds for the Family Support Network, according to Government Information Services.

The July 24 show, themed “Nature’s Little Secrets: The Artists’ Perspective,” featured the work of 12 Virgin Islands artists.

“While modernisation has brought social and economic change, many aspects of our traditional culture remain strong, such as art,” Premier Dr. Orlando Smith said in an official message for the show.

He added that he is looking forward to seeing the auction winners — many of whom purchased vacation packages — in the territory in the future.

BVI London Office Director Kedrick Malone said, “We are happy to once again receive the assistance of Friends of the BVI, who sponsored the auction.”

The FSN works to assist domestic violence victims in the territory, among other services.
