Aside from a toilet, all of the stolen items that Dwayne Fahie admitted were in his possession — mostly building materials — have been returned to their owner, Senior Magistrate Tamia Richards told the court, during a sentencing hearing Tuesday.

After obtaining a warrant, police searched Mr. Fahie’s home on July 8 and discovered the stolen items, including lights, faucets, electrical wires, paint, a circular saw and other items, according to prosecutors.

During the search, they also discovered in the defendant’s home 883.4 grams of marijuana, which has a street value of nearly $9,000, prosecutors said.

Mr. Fahie pleaded guilty to the charges against him during an appearance in July. He was sentenced Tuesday to 20 months in prison for possession of cannabis and 12 months for handling stolen goods. The sentences are to run consecutively.

“So, 20 plus 12,” Ms. Richards said. “They are to run consecutively because the crimes are entirely unrelated.”
