Shawn Richards, a 22-year-old who was injured in a shooting incident on Saturday at Long Look, died at Peebles Hospital on Monday night, according to Police Information Officer Diane Drayton.
Police inquiries indicate that a lone gunman wearing dark-coloured clothing and a hoodie walked up to the victim while he was standing outside a Long Look residence at about 10 p.m. and fired several shots, according to Ms. Drayton.
The assailant then fled in the direction of The Stickett, she said.
Information circulating on social media prompted police to interview one person, but the individual was released without any charges, Ms. Drayton added.
Investigations are ongoing.
Police are seeking witnesses and information about the incident.
