A patron of Maria’s Bar in Huntums Ghut was shot on Saturday around 9:30 p.m., police confirmed on Monday.
Police responded to a report that shots had been fired in the area and the victim, who they did not identify, was taken to Peebles Hospital.
He is reportedly in stable condition and will remain hospitalised for treatment.
Police are asking anyone who was at the bar or in the immediate area or who might have relevant information about the shooting to contact the Intelligence Unit at 368-9339.
