“I am a princess. Fill my life with peace not pain,” read a sign held by a participant of the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s “End it Now” march.

About 400 members of SDA churches in the Virgin Islands participated in the Saturday march, starting at Sunny Caribbee and making their way to the Band Stand in Long Bush.

“End it now,” they chanted as members of the SDA Drum Corps played. The Pathfinders, a youth group, brought up the rear of the procession.

The event was part of activities held for the church’s Women’s Ministry Weekend, which preceded tomorrow’s global observance of International Women’s Day.

Also during the weekend, SDA women participated in several conferences and prayer sessions, as did their counterparts around the region.

“We are here to stand against violence against women,” Jerelyn Callwood, the chair of the march, told participants shortly after they arrived at the Band Stand.
