Before Sunday, Chelsea Solomon had never paid much attention to how much plastic she uses. But after watching “Bag It,” a documentary about plastic bags, she plans to make some changes.

Ms. Solomon was among about 40 people who came to U.P.’s Cineplex to watch the 2010 film at a viewing organised by World House Caribbean, a Virgin Islands non-profit organisation.

The 74-minute documentary, which was shown Sunday through Tuesday, tracked Jeb Berrier, a Colorado resident, as he tried to eliminate plastic bags and products from his life after learning that his wife was pregnant.
“Just because plastic is disposable doesn’t mean it just goes away,” Mr. Berrier said in the documentary. “It actually sticks around for a very long time.”
