In a press release issued Friday morning, police say the call that prompted the search was evidently a hoax, but that the store was evacuated “as a precaution.”

Customers arriving at the store around lunchtime were told that it was closed. One staff member told the small crowd milling around the door that the cause of the closure was “urgent,” but he declined to give any further details.

Police officers were observed at the scene, but aside from that things appeared normal from outside the shop, with customers continuing to exit the store with their groceries seemingly unaware of any problem inside.

Police continue to investigate the matter.
