Last weekend, the Virgin Islands Volleyball Association’s Power League came to a close with the finals being played at the Multi-purpose Sports Complex.

 

Both men’s and women’s divisions were decided in five-game sets.

Phoenix Red defeated the Legends and went on to claim its third championship, while Just Dream defend its title after beating the Gunz.

On Saturday, Phoenix Red defeated the Legends, 25-23, 25-21, 25-27, 17-25 and 15-11.

Phoenix Red’s Danielle Selkridge had 20 kills, seven blocks and five aces in the win. Sharonda Pickering had nine kills for Phoenix Red.

The Legends were led by Debra Dagou who had 10 kills and eight digs in the loss, while Erica Smith-Penn had three kills and five digs.

In the men’s final, Just Dream beat the Gunz, 25-17, 23-25, 25-11, 19-25 and 15-8.

Just Dream’s Canice Marquis had 12 kills and eight aces in the win, while Travis Jack finished with seven kills. Marlon Solomon had six blocks.

The Gunz’ Clyde Potter finished with 10 blocks and six aces in the loss.
