Police continue to investigate the death of Ashley Turnbull, a then-60-year-old Meyers man found dead on Soldiers Hill Sept. 6, 2010.

Mr. Turnbull was last seen alive Aug. 29, 2010 and reported missing four days later, according to a police press release.

Soon after the death, Dr. Bruce Hyma, chief medical examiner for Florida’s Miami-Dade County, conducted a post-mortem examination, verifying Mr. Turnbull’s identity through dental records. The cause of death could not be determined, and police have treated the death as a potential homicide, according to the release.

Police urge anyone who saw or had contact with Mr. Turnbull on Aug. 29, 2010 or any time thereafter to make contact with them. He was seen in New Bush at about 6 p.m. and outside Clyne’s Shop at Meyers between 6:30 and 7 p.m., carrying a white grocery bag and wearing dark-coloured long pants along with a dark blue short-sleeved t-shirt and a cap, according to the release.
