A burglary was reported on Aug. 29 at the Curry House in Road Town, police said.

“They bent open the window, making space for them to enter,” Police Information Officer Diane Drayton said.

Simon Roberts, the restaurant’s proprietor, said he left Saturday evening and returned Monday morning to find evidence of the break-in.

“They got away with a fairly small amount of cash,” Mr. Roberts said. He added that he is taking precautions to prevent future burglaries.

“I’m locking down everything tight now, and obviously nothing valuable’s left in there overnight now,” he said.

A meeting was to be held at St. George’s Episcopal Church at 5 p.m. yesterday, after the Beacon’s print deadline, to discuss rising crime on Main Street and potential solutions.
