The Social Development Department is starting early this year with seeking donations for its annual Back-to-School Drive.

The campaign is to start on Wednesday and culminate with a “Back-To-School-a-Thon” to be held at the Bobby’s Supermarket parking lot in Road Town on Aug. 31.

All school supplies are welcome, including copy books, pens, pencils, book bags, rulers, erasers, sharpeners, binder leaves, socks, crayons, gift certificates and new uniform apparel.

“This year’s Back-to-School Drive will begin much earlier for those ‘early bird’ shoppers who travel abroad to purchase school supplies,” Community Development Officer Melissa Potter said.
