Enid Scatliffe Pre-primary School students returned to classes Friday after the school was closed Thursday due to a backed up sewage pipe.

The backup caused sewage to seep through manholes and onto the campus, according to Government Information Services.

“The situation was rectified,” according to GIS, with an “intensive cleanup of the affected areas” by Corea’s Cleaning Services.

Students and most staff were sent home, and the school’s scheduled Harvest Thanksgiving Programme was postponed.

At about 1 p.m. when the programme was scheduled to take place, cleaners were wrapping up their work, having evidently completed hosing down the cement area around the school’s main entrance.
