A 19-year-old man was shot dead and another man was hospitalised to treat gunshot wounds in an apparent robbery outside Crystal Night Club in Free Bottom yesterday morning, officials said.
The deceased is Johnsons Ghut resident Javeron Heskey, who was found wearing a mask at the time, according to a police press release. Mr. Heskey was pronounced dead at the scene after the 1 a.m. robbery, police said.
A gun was found nearby, the release stated. The hospitalised man was sent to Peebles Hospital for treatment but his condition was unknown as of the Beacon’s print deadline yesterday afternoon.
Police have two suspects in custody in connection with the shooting, according to Police Information Officer Diane Drayton, but they hadn’t reported any charges as of the Beacon’s print deadline yesterday afternoon.
