A week after the 2012 BVI Track and Field season opened, the BVI road racing calendar will begin its menu of 25 races on Virgin Gorda and Tortola throught out the year, stating with the Dive BVI 5K Series opener on Saturday.

Race registration begins at 6:00 a.m. and the start at 6:30 a.m. The race will go from the Enid Pickering Building in the Valley, to just past Guavaberry Spring Bay and return to the finish. There will be a water stop near the turnaround point.

“I’m looking at getting more people involved and there are more people who want to walk,” noted event coordinator Casey McNutt. “I hoping we can get over 20 participants.

The Blenheim Trust 5K Series on Tortola starts on March 3. That will be followed by the Ceres Juices 10K Series commencing on June 16.
