Tim Schaaf stood on the deck of Jet Stream on Friday morning inviting a small crowd of yacht brokers to examine the stand-up paddleboard he held in his hand.

Mr. Schaaf, the 44-foot catamaran’s captain, touted the advantages of the inflatable board, the newest “toy” he offers guests who charter the yacht.

“This is light. It doesn’t damage the fiberglass. I’ll blow it up at the beginning of a charter,” he said. “If we put down anchor they don’t have to ask for it. I’ll just put it in and say, ‘Here’s the stand-up paddleboard,’ and it will be much more inviting for them.”

The brokers standing on Jet Stream’s deck were among more than 100 brokers from all over the world who visited the annual Charter Yacht Show held at Village Cay Marina last week. The show gave the more than 70 participating crews a chance to show off their yachts’ features and put on their best image for the brokers, whose job it is to book charter guests.
