Drugs and alcohol have destroyed many lives. During the Artists Against Addiction concert on Sunday, musicians, poets and actors took the stage to protest.

The event, held at the Central Administration Building breezeway, was part of Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Awareness Month, which is organised each year by the Sandy Lane Centre.

Students of the Enid Scatlife Pre-primary School started the event, performing Michael Jackson’s “We are the World” and a short poem.

Singer Monique Chapdeline follower, rendering her version of Jessie J’s “Who You Are.”

Recovering addicts also took the microphone, warning others to avoid their mistakes.
