Four males and two females were arrested yesterday morning on suspicion of drug trafficking and money laundering, police said.

Cash, an automatic rifles, computers, mobile phones and documents were also seized, as searches were carried out by 72 police officers at about 5:30 a.m. yesterday, according to a release from the Police Information Office.

Police were assisted by United States and United Kingdom law enforcement agencies, according to the release.

Names of those arrested were not yet released, as charges have not yet been filed, according to the release. Governor Boyd McCleary and Premier Ralph O’Neal are being updated on the ongoing investigation, according to the release.

Police Information Officer Diane Drayton declined to comment on reports in the online media regarding the professions of the suspects.
