Cricket
Oscar Ramjeet, who writes the Cricket Corner column for this newspaper, will be honoured by the Berbice Cricket Board for his contributions to cricket when he served as secretary for the board. He will be honoured along with test players Rohan Kanhai, Basil Butcher, Joe Solomon, Alvin Kalicharran, Ivan Madray, Sew Shivnarine, Leonard Baichan and others.
Fast bowler John Trim, and opening batsman Roy Fredericks will be honoured posthumously. A few administrators will also be honoured.
The Berbice Cricket Board is celebrating its 75th anniversary and the board is planning a month long celebration starting last weekend.
Mr. Ramjeet covered test matches throughout the Caribbean and a match at Lords in the United Kingdom.
