The Old Madrid Masters Football Tournament concluded on Sunday with the Combine Stars of Tortola winning the title for the first time in four years by defeating the F.O.V Masters of Antigua, 5-2, in the finals.

 

Awards:

Second place – F.O.V Masters of Antigua

Third place – St. Martin Veterans

Best Goal Keeper – Luc Marconnet, St. Martin

Golden Boot – Andrew Denis (4 goals ) St. Martin

Tournament MVP – Rohan ‘Chi Chi’ Lennon

 

Basketball

The roster deadline for the Sea Cows Bay Basketball Christmas League is Nov. 6. The league is scheduled to start on Nov. 20.

A $120-registration fee includes a jersey. Trophies will be awarded after the championship in both the 9-12 and 13-15 year old divisions. Games will be played on different courts throughout Tortola. For more information, contact Milton Creque at 542-5555.

 

Rugby

The BVI National Rugby Team will compete against Barbados in the NACRA Championships at the A.O. Shirley Recreation Grounds on Nov. 7 at 3 p.m.

 

Mountain Bike

The BVIMountain Bike Club will host its last race of the season on Nov. 7 at Peter Island Resort. The event will also feature a barbecue. Adults are $30; kids (14-5 years old) are $20 and children (under 5 years old) are free. For more information contact: Iain.Walker@tmf-group.com

The Julian Fraser Save the Seed National Basketball League will start its playoffs tomorrow at the Save the Seed Energy Centre in Duffs Bottom. The teams that made the playoffs are as follows:
