Students were encouraged to exercise and eat right during a health fair hosted by the Social Security Board last week at Enid Scatliffe Pre-Primary School.

Under the theme “A Healthy Future,” children got dental checkups and medial screenings, ate fruits, and learned about fire safety and social development, according to a press release from the SSB.

There was also a puppet show, a giveaway, and a bouncy castle, as well as the characters “Kung Fu Panda” and “Freddy the Firehouse Dog.”

Also during the event, organisers launched Fruit and Water Day: Students and their parents are pledging to eat only fruits and drink only water for their snack on Wednesdays, SSB Deputy Director Jeanette Scatliffe Boynes said.

Ms. Boynes added that students and classes with the highest compliance will win prizes at the end of the school term.

The SSB, which has adopted the school, plans to make the fair an annual event.
