More than 20 trust companies, law firms and government agencies were represented at Friday’s daylong National Scholars Forum Job Fair at the Multi-purpose Sports Complex.

Aimed at recipients of government scholarships and graduates of the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College, the event was jointly hosted by the Department of Human Resources, the Ministry of Education and Culture, and the Department of Labour.

“It was good to have all the departments here together, even though a lot of them aren’t hiring,” said Chevon Turnbull, a recent HLSCC graduate.

She said she distributed nearly all of the 25 resumes she brought with her. Ms. Turnbull hopes to put her studies in business administration to use in an entry-level position such as being an administrative assistant.
