D’aundre Penn has played the piano since he was 8 years old. This summer, the teenager taught some of his friends the skill in Cappoons Bay as part of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports Summer Programme.

On Friday at the Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park, he and other participants presented what they learned during the programme, which was held in seven centres on Tortola and one on Virgin Gorda.

The Cappoons Bay sessions — which offered music, first aid, sports, and arts and crafts — were attended by 42 students, centre coordinator Monica Howston said.

The participants spent much of Friday giving presentations on what they learned during the summer. They displayed crafts, danced and played musical instruments.

Almost 500 youths registered for the programme, according to Government Information Services
